Queer Therapy Group
This group is for people who identify as Queer (self-identified/LGBQQ-T+GE+2S-IA
A dynamic place for problem solving, healing and empowerment, this weekly group is designed for 6 people to support each other in exploring and resolving issues they are facing.
Group members will:
This group can be an adjunct to your current work in 1:1 therapy or a therapy in and of itself.
Time: Wednesdays, 6:30-8:30/9 p.m.
Length: This is an on-going group; new members join as people leave group.
Cost: sliding scale $200-$150/month
Facilitated by:
Ellen Morrison, LCSW (she/her/hers) Ellen is queer white woman of Swedish immigrant ancestry and trained as a therapist and mediator. She is committed to interrupting the cycle of trauma caused by oppression and believes that the strength of group work can be core to building community and equitable relationships.
André Vaughan-Bonterre: (they/them) André is a queer non-binary person who immigrated from Trinidad, West Indies and is in training as a professional facilitator. They have been engaged in queer studies and social justice work for many years with a deep understanding of group dynamics. They are committed to ensuring the work of therapy is accessible to people of color and the analysis of power supports our growth and well-being.
Facilitators are skilled at engaging the spectrum of our group’s queer and multiracial identity, and committed to ensuring equal membership of people of color and white identified participants.

- Learn a cooperative process helpful to relationship building, problem solving and healing
- Get support in challenging limitations and internalized oppression so as to grow steadily toward your goals
- Learn how to Interrupt experiences of isolation
- Use creative arts and somatic wisdom, as well as talk therapy, in the sharing of our lives, practicing skills, and learning from both our shared experience and diversity.
